Square Ball (“we”, “the app”) helps golfers track shots, courses, and social rounds. This policy explains what data we collect and how it is used.

Data we collect

• Account information — email address and display name when you create a social account.
• Location — precise GPS while you use play/tracking features, to record shot positions and distances. Location is not used for advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps.
• Microphone & speech — used only when you enable voice commands (“Hey Caddie”). Audio is processed for recognition on device / via Apple speech APIs as configured; we do not sell voice recordings.
• NFC tag IDs — optional club-tag mappings stored on your device.
• Round & course content — shots, scores, courses, and content you choose to publish or share.
• Diagnostics / feedback — optional messages you send through Feedback, which may include app version and device info you provide.

How we use data

We use this information to operate the app: scoring, maps, social features, coach share links, course library sync, and support. We do not sell personal data. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.

Where data is stored

• On your iPhone — local rounds, settings, and NFC mappings.
• Supabase (cloud backend) — accounts, social profiles, published rounds, shares, and course library when you use those features. Project region is configured in our Supabase project.
• Cloudflare Pages — public share pages for coach review links you create.
• Weather — approximate weather may be fetched from Open-Meteo using location coordinates during a round.

Sharing

Coach review links and social posts are visible to people who have the link or membership you choose. Service providers (Supabase, Cloudflare, Apple) process data only to run the app infrastructure.

Your choices

• You can deny location, microphone, speech, or NFC permissions in iOS Settings; some features will be limited.
• You can sign out at any time in Social → Me.
• You can delete your account in Social → Me → Delete account. That removes your auth user and cascading social cloud data. Local rounds on the device remain until you remove the app.

Children

Square Ball is not directed at children under 13. Do not create an account if you are under 13.
